Phone Verification Procedures

Operational Procedures: Account Call-In and Verification Procedures

Account verification is put in place to protect PhotoBiz & Zibster against spam emails being sent out from PhotoBiz or Zibster accounts and damaging the reputation of our IP address or worse getting our IP address banned/blacklisted if someone abuses our system.

Client Verification Inbound Calls

Effective May 1, 2010, the following procedure should be followed by all departments when answering calls to PhotoBiz. This applies to both the account holder and any users they may have added to their account:

  • Ask for the Account ID
  • Ask for the first and last name (to verify the account)
  • Verify the PIN for the account or user.
Account Verification

Do Not Verify any accounts unless one of the following three scenarios occurs:

  • The customer has been with us for over 30 days, and you have checked all the potential suspicious signs on the account.
  • The customer is asking to set up a domain because their website is almost ready or ready to be launched, and you have confirmed that.
  • You know the customer or the customer already has another verified account.

You can check to make sure an account is legitimate and eligible to be verified with the following information:

  • Address: Ask to verify the entire address on the account
  • Phone Number: Verify the client is calling from the phone number on file
  • Account Status: The account status is active. Partner accounts include a 180 day trial period that allows the site to be built on a temporary domain. Domain setups should not be processed until the account membership is activated and the account status is Active.
  • Website Content: Check the content and legitimacy on the Website Builder is compliant with PhotoBiz terms of use or Zibster terms of use.
  • Business Type: If no content has been added to the website, ask the customer about what type of services they provide to ensure it is within our terms of use.

If the client has not started building a website with us - ask the client if they have a website or domain online currently that they're bringing over to us.

Look at the age of the domain on https://www.whois.com

If they do not pass the test - elevate to senior agent or Manager and if they are not available to John K.
